My Spit Braai was founded in the heart of the Cape Winelands suburb of Durbanville with a single purpose: to deliver the authentic taste of a whole-animal spit braai to every table, backyard and function venue in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.
What started as a passion project β slow-roasting whole Karoo lamb over seasoned hardwood charcoal for family and friends β grew into one of the Northern Suburbs' most trusted spit braai catering companies. Over more than a decade, we have perfected the art of on-site rotisserie catering, serving hundreds of events ranging from intimate 30-guest birthday celebrations in Durbanville to 200-guest corporate year-end functions in Bellville South and Parow.
Our base is in Eversdal, Durbanville, putting us at the centre of the Northern Suburbs corridor and within quick reach of Bellville, Parow, Tygervalley, Brackenfell, Kraaifontein and all surrounding communities. We are a Cape Town spit braai institution β fire-crafted, locally rooted, and proud of every lamb we've ever roasted.
We use seasoned hardwood charcoal and slow low-temperature roasting β 120β140Β°C for 4β6 hours β for genuinely tender, smoky spit braai meat. No shortcuts.
We source free-range Karoo lamb and Western Cape pork from trusted local suppliers. Our Halaal meat comes from accredited Cape Town Halaal butchers.
Our experienced spit braai chefs handle everything β setup, fire management, basting, carving and serving β so you can focus on your guests.
Based in Durbanville's Eversdal, we serve Durbanville, Bellville South, Parow, Tygervalley, Brackenfell and all Northern Suburbs communities as our primary operating area.
My Spit Braai has catered for weddings at Durbanville wine farms, year-end functions at Bellville South factories, school leavers braais in Parow, community events in Brackenfell, sports club braais in Kraaifontein, and private garden parties across Tygervalley and Plattekloof.
We understand the Northern Suburbs event market β the timing demands, the scale variations, the diverse dietary requirements (Halaal, vegetarian sides, dietary restrictions) and the logistical realities of setting up and tearing down at suburban venues, wine estate lawns and industrial yards.
